Last horse day of the quarter

Interesting day today--Try and Keystone as both LBI's are so vastly different:

Try first as vet was coming--all horses were in--bareback--lovely ride up the road and around Karen's house and then out into one of the geldings's pasture when Try realized she was alone! She wasn't her usual laid back self and let me know she was not comfortable and I had wanted a nice bareback canter in that pasture and ended up settling for the canter in the ring. We did figure 8's at a trot/shaping the circle etc when Try got emotional.

Keystone: long currying groom as he is shedding and still has a really heavy winter coat. Then extreme friendly with my back to the rail and he got it. Also sideways--one step at a time--remember he moves his HQ more freely than FQ and tendency to disengage HQ and look at me.

Then ride: 4 laps + 2 laps. He had much better impulsion I think because I was carrying the baby carrot stick. Broke up the 4 with inside track then cross diagonal to change. Will find a small crop for the future as it was hard to keep the carrot stick still. Canter--good impulsion when my weight was forward.
Then he needed to be showered, back to pasture, and again he took off--to my mind really rudely. Need to think on that.
